Hugo is the first TimeShifter transported by Maurice's timeshifting machine.
Even though it was not certain that Hugo would survive, he saw no reason not to.
He considered it an honor to be the first Timeshifter.
He chose to go back to prehistoric times to hope to learn about dinosaurs.
Due to his age, the founders have chosen to categorize him as a citizen.
Hugo sees this as a lost opportunity , given that he taught at the university all his life.
Yet he is keen to educate the new community.
